The coming week is going to be one of the busiest with 140 companies of the S&P 500 reporting earnings. Additionally, key economic data reports will be released. These are the companies and reports I’ll be watching.
Monday morning: Bank of America, Halliburton, and Eli Lilly. IBM and Texas Instruments will report following Monday’s close. Leading economic indicators report for March is also due.
Tuesday morning will see results from Caterpillar, DuPont, Coca-Cola, Merck, Bank of New York Mellon, Coach, UnitedHealth and New York Times. After Tuesday’s close, we’ll see quarterly result for Yahoo!, Advanced Micro Devices and Capital One.
On Wednesday morning, AT&T, Boeing, and McDonald’s, Wells Fargo, Morgan Stanley, Altria and Freeport-McMoRan will report. Later in the day, we will hear from Apple, Qualcomm, eBay, Yum! Brands, and Sallie Mae.
Thursday’s earnings include American Express, ConocoPhillips, UPS, Amazon.com, Microsoft and Netflix. Additionally, three big reports are due: the weekly jobless claims report, the March report on durable goods orders, and the release of the March read on existing-home sales.
Friday’s earnings wire is considerably lighter, with Ford, 3M and Honeywell. New home sales data will be released.
All these reports are considered to be strong barometers of economic activity. If there’s any good news in the reports, the market will show gains and close on a high note.
