About Me

Though Washington D.C. will always be home to me, I’m currently living in Jane Austen’s old stomping grounds in Southwestern England, which is kind of fitting since I’m a writer too. I’m repped by the amazing Jason Anthony at Lippincott Massie McQuilkin.

I write romantic suspense under the pseudonym Cara Ellison. My debut novel, At Any Cost, set in D.C. and full of executive office details, is available from Diversion Books at retailers everywhere (including Amazon | Barnes & Noble | Kobo | iTunes). I’m currently working on the sequel to that book, and have several other projects on the burners. If you want to be alerted when that book is published, please sign up here.

I get inspiration everywhere. If I ever get stuck for ideas, I promptly cross-pollinate my creativity by checking out a museum or listening to some kick-ass music.

Some things that recharge my imagination coils:
Ballet
Literature
Movies
Art (Vincent Van Gogh is my dead boyfriend)
My friends and family, most of whom speak with a British accent that cracks me up.

I write about some of these things on this blog. A lot of the time I just write about some small thing that happened to me that day. In other words, I have no editorial calendar and write about whatever I fancy. In addition to writing, I have a digital PR and marketing company, and I also teach barre classes. Loved this book! Loved how the emotions of Tom & Fallon were described so richly! Also spent the last hour hour reading your blogs. I like your thoughts, and your pictures. Loved the pigeon egg heroine story! I do the same sort of thing. And visiting/living in England….someday I will get there!
I will be looking for more from you! Carry on! Heather
